Founded in Paris, France back in 2002, Maison Kitsune was established by Gildas Loaëc, the former manager of the French electronic music duo Daft Punk, and Masaya Kuroki, a modern architect.
In Japan, Loaëc and Kuroki came together to oversee the production of Daft Punk’s anime film Interstella 5555, and developed the concept for Maison Kitsune. Set to be a one of a kind label that flawlessly fuses their two stylistically intertwined interests, fashion and music, the brand is now one of the most sought after out there.
Literally translating to “House of Fox”, an animal which is used regularly throughout their pieces, Japanese folklore says that the fox possesses the power to change its appearance, and there is no doubt Maison Kitsune knows how to adapt its sound and style according to inspiration. Utilising simple and clean colour palettes, the Paris based brand produces nothing but must cop staples.
