maharishi are a brand that are known for branching out to Asia to source their inspiration. For their latest collection, they have looked to the the Vietnamese Hill Tribes of the 1960’s. The London label has particularly focused on the Maha Hill Tribes, which were initially made famous by the film Apocalypse Now.
The Hollywood influence is further seen on the organic canyon hemp “Hill Tribe Shirt”. Inspired by a shirt that Dennis Hopper’s character found, this embroidered piece is one of the highlights of the collection.
This sits along side pieces such as the World Tour Poncho and World Tour Jacket, all of which are made from vintage military surplus. This means an abundance of unique camouflage prints.
These pieces are finished off perfectly by the Gall-Peters projection of the map which has been embroidered in. You can couple all of these tops with the 2 stellar pairs of cargo pants that are releasing in the alongside the main pieces.
