BAPE is a brand that really needs no introduction. Founded back in 1993 by Tomoaki Nagao, or Nigo, as he prefers to be called, the imprint started out like many others, producing graphic tees and sweats which utilised psychedelic colour schemes, later expanding to everything from jeans, to toys, to even toilet paper. Soon, the Japanese label developed a cult following, and twenty five years later, BAPE is beginning the new year by bringing back an old favourite.
Providing diehard fans with a unique way to show their affiliations and pick up new products, BAPE is officially reviving the BAPE CARD. For those who remember, the item’s original incarnation utilised a point based system which gave users the opportunity to buy BAPE items with points they have accumulated through other purchases.
